Your Vote's Value

Here in the Skypark there are proposals afoot that would expand the project by adding additional territory/lots available.
Some of our members passionately oppose the concept, arguing that any increase in the total number of votes is a major problem because it devalues a individual vote.  They wish to be compensated for this presumed loss.

This concept of assigning monetary value to a vote led to the following calculations:

What is the "value" of your vote as an American?  Here's one way to figure it:

bulletThe GDP (gross domestic product):    $13.8413 trillion
bulletThe number of citizens in the USA:         304.64 million
bulletEach vote is therefore "worth":                $45,436

A new citizen is added every 10 seconds (not counting illegals). This means that:

bulletEvery hour your vote decreases in value by:        $0.053694
bulletEvery year your vote decreases in value by:    $470.36
