Ownership of the Skypark
 |
We are a "Common Interest Subdivision", comprised of 60
privately-owned residential lots and two commercial lots (an FBO and a
restaurant). The 62 owners of these lots in turn each hold a 1/62nd
undivided interest in the "common area", which is the airport proper (the
runway and taxiway environment). |
 |
Ownership of a lot also brings membership in a homeowner's association,
the Rosamond Skypark Association. The Association administers the
operation of the airport itself, working through an elected five-member Board
of Directors. The Board is assisted by various committees. |
 |
As a Common Interest Subdivision, or "Planned Unit Development", the Skypark lots are covered by CC&Rs,
which provide the legal framework allowing the Association to both operate
the airport and exercise a certain level of control over the use of the
properties. We MOST STRONGLY suggest you familiarize
yourself with the implications of this, and a good place to start is by
downloading and reading
THIS FILE from the Department of Real Estate. |
